John Hammond reports:

Yesterday went well. It was supposed to be only 48 miles, but somehow we ended up doing 55 miles. Beautiful villages and fantastic houses and gardens. Many Rhododendrons and a lot of Japanese Knotweed!

One particularly ‘interesting’ part of the ride was cycling along a forest track that deteriorated progressively until we had to carry our bikes through a dense mosquito-ridden forest to get to a nearby main road. Bitten but not beaten.
With only 30 miles to go, we have noticed the terrain become more undulating… How I hate hills.
Or first stop this morning will be at the HQ of our main sponsor, STILL, who make fork-lift trucks… We will be all kitted out in STILL logo’d shirts.
Then on to the hotel and the finish…
